V&E Animal Omens: Wild Turkey

Yesterday I went for a ramble in the forest with a wonderful walking companion and we came across a beautiful, female, wild turkey! We tried to follow it but both the turkey and ourselves discovered that the path we were walking had been overtaken by a new-build subdivision.
It has been such a long time since I have written about animal omens and this encounter was so striking and made such an impression I had to know what message the turkey has for us!
Turns out they are messengers of abundance and in Spring they represent the beginning of a new journey of abundance. There is plenty to learn from this fortunate meeting in the woods!

V&E Poetic Therapy: Cradle Song

A short reflection based on the reading of the poem Cradle Song written by Alfred Lord Tennyson:
why, in our youth are we so eager to leave our mothers, to leave the nest, to grow? With exceptions, most of the dangers in life are beyond the safety of our homes and yet we seem to have this drive to run toward them as fast as we can. Then as adults it seems reverse our drives and we become afraid of the change that the world brings. Sometimes we are so afraid to leave the nest, we are caught by it, trapped there and stagnant. What is the happy middle ground? Do you know your nest? Are you able to leave?

V&E Animal Omens: Crow

A symbol for the void, the space between here and the Otherworld or the conscious and unconscious mind,  as well as intelligence, creativity, and spiritual strength. The crow is a messenger between this world and the Otherworld.

V&E Animal Omens: What it Means When You Find A Dead Bird

Death of a bird signifies new beginnings

Dead Bird Omens are not as ominous as we might expect. Paradoxically, the death of a bird represents new beginnings. Spiritually death is not an end but a transition.
In that light, finding a dead bird might actually be a good omen. If you encounter one on your path or even if you accidentally hit one with your car (don’t do it on purpose!) it means you are about to experience a metaphysical death or change and the end of struggle or pain…

V&E Animal Omens: Robin

bright future, happiness, joy, hopefulness, simplicity, robin omen, bird omen, animal omen, signs, signifies, birds, baby robin,

The robin is a sign of happiness, joy, hopefulness, simplicity. The robin helps us with clearing our minds when we feel foggy and promises that if we are able to reduce the issue to it’s simplest form we will see our way through to a bright future.
